Gerard Barrett's feature film Pilgrim Hill grabs a hold of a national nerve that has mostly been left ignored, ripping it from its place and leaving the viewer with a raw and real piece of work that holds its audience enthralled from start to finish. Filmed in July of this year in several locations around North Kerry, Pilgrim Hill is a tale dealing with rural isolation and loneliness in modern Ireland.

DERMOT McCARTHY ~ ART EXHIBITION  in conjunction with kerry county council

Date: 8th December ~ 5th January

OPENING TUESDAY 8TH DEC @ 8PM ~ aLL WELCOME

The Chapel on the Hill will once again be the privilaged host to an art exhibition from Killorglin Native Dermot McCarthy throughout December and early January in conjunction with Kerry County Council

A selection of paintings, hand tinted etchings and colour reproductions will be on view in the gallery and are for sale.

"The work itself is created without preconcieved ideas, slowly finding ones way along the path of the subconscious.  A self thought artist, themes gradually emerge step by step, in each new work, and for that I am grateful. I paint in watercolour as it lends itself to the detailed nature of each painting." Dermot McCarthy.

"Dermot is an excellent artist and is capable of inspiring those he works with; he is very good at facilitating others to explore their creativity" ~ Kate Kennelly, Kerry County Council Arts Officer
